About Us
In Latin America, Islam is still nascent, with most countries hosting Muslim populations that are less than 1%—often much closer to zero. Given the region’s limited infrastructure to support Muslim community growth, those involved in Islamic outreach, or dawah, tend to be well-acquainted with one another.
We are a team of Muslims, primarily Latin American reverts who have studied Islam in Madinah. For over two decades, we have dedicated ourselves to nurturing the Muslim communities across Latin America. Throughout these years, we’ve engaged with various organisations that interact with local Muslims, each with its distinct focus and varying degrees of commitment to long-term community development.
¡HolaIslam! was established to unify these efforts under a single banner, creating a confederation of Muslim organisations across Latin America. Our mission is to foster development among the first emerging generations of Latin American Muslims by providing a robust platform that addresses existing gaps and focuses on sustainable growth rather than transient, superficial achievements. Our goal is to cultivate a self-sustaining community and empower local Muslim leaders to prioritise essential, long-lasting impacts.
